R&D Design Lead

As an R&D Design Lead within our R&D ITE (In-The-Ear) Development team, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our instant fit and custom product lines. Reporting to the Head of ITE Development, you will lead a small team of multidisciplinary engineers, driving the creation of innovative solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end hardware and mechanical design efforts for our product brands and derivatives
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including audiology, wireless, engineering, marketing, and regulatory affairs, to align R&D efforts with business goals and drive successful product launches.
- Lead the creation, review, and release of test specifications and test reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal requirements.
- Oversee the evaluation and verification process through the measurement of components and interfaces, as well as the development of component tests and test equipment.
- Drive the system integration of hearing aids from a design engineering perspective to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Support production transfer and product ramp-up activities, ensuring a smooth transition from R&D to manufacturing.
- Plan resources and budget, ensuring roadmaps can be fulfilled.
The Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor/ Master’s degree in mechanical or electronics Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in end-to-end product development.
- Proven track record of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams in the development of medical devices, from concept to mass production.
- Understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements in the medical device industry, with experience navigating the regulatory landscape.
- Leadership and skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
