R&D Manager, Sound & Audiology

We are looking for an R&D Manager (Sound & Audiology) to lead our Singapore Sound & Audiology group within Global R&D. This role will oversee three sub-teams specializing in a) audiological verification and integration, b) device optimization, and c) audiological software implementation and verification, ensuring high-quality development, strong collaboration, and team engagement across functions.
What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of professionals across three sub-teams focused on Audiological Verification, Database Implementation, and Device Optimization
- Oversee task, resource, and budget planning for all audiological development activities in close alignment with team leads and the Global Head of Sound & Audiology
- Ensure effective training, knowledge sharing, and process improvements, fostering cross-functional and cross-site collaboration within Global R&D
- Drive timely, high-quality execution of audiological product development, testing, and verification tasks
- Serve as the main Singapore contact for audiological topics and project stakeholder communication
- Build a collaborative, safe, and engaging work environment, promoting innovation, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
What you bring
- Master’s degree or higher in Audiology, Acoustics, Physics, or Engineering (with focus on sound or hearing science)
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in audio/audiology or sound development, preferably within medical devices
- Proven leadership or project management experience (3–5 years minimum), managing technical or R&D teams
- Strong capability in resource management, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent people leadership, coaching, and communication skills to foster trust and engagement
- Project management or coaching certification is an advantage; proficiency in MS Office required.
