Engineer, HW Architecture
Driven by the passion to improve quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation in order to reach more people, more effectively.
Are you an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys turning product concepts into feasible, manufacturable hardware solutions? Join our team as an Engineer, HW Architecture and play a key role in shaping the architecture and development of next-generation hearing aid products.
You’ll work at the intersection of product architecture, mechanical design, simulation, innovation, and manufacturing, partnering with cross-functional teams and suppliers to turn early concepts into mature solutions. This is an opportunity to influence product direction while seeing your designs through the realities of production, tooling, NPI, and supplier collaboration.
What you will do
Drive hardware architecture workstreams from early concepts through mature subsystem solutions and form-factor pre-concepts, aligned with portfolio and product development plans
Translate product and market requirements into feasible hardware concepts, assessing technical feasibility, commonality, and opportunities for future product platforms
Develop and evaluate mechanical solutions using CAD, simulation, tolerance analysis, FEA, and other engineering methods to support robust product decisions
Collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, quality, tooling, NPI, suppliers, and other functional teams to develop solutions that can successfully transition from concept to production
Communicate project progress, technical risks, and challenges to stakeholders and drive timely decisions and mitigation actions in line with project timelines
Explore forefront technologies and innovation opportunities, including competitor benchmarking and collaboration with hardware, acoustics, simulation, and global innovation experts.
What you bring
5+ years of product development experience in mechanical engineering, hardware architecture, or product concept development, preferably within consumer electronics, medical devices, or other complex products
Strong hands-on CAD and mechanical design experience, with knowledge of plastic, rubber, metal, and electro-mechanical components; experience with plastic and rubber is particularly relevant
Solid engineering analysis capabilities, including tolerance analysis, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, FEA, DOE, DFSS, and structured product development processes
End-to-end product development experience, including exposure to manufacturing, tooling, NPI, quality, suppliers, and factory environments (not only front-end research or conceptual design)
Strong project management and PLM understanding, with the ability to drive technical decisions, manage workstreams, and deliver against defined product development timelines
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with strong English communication skills; German, Danish, or Mandarin language skills are a plus.
