Intern - Electroacoustic Simulation Correlation (January 2027)
Driven by the passion to improve the quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as the market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation to reach more people, more effectively.
As an Electroacoustic Simulation Correlation Intern, you will partake in evaluating the confidence level of electroacoustic simulations to predict measurement results for R&D electroacoustic design. As part of this role, you will be exposed to a variety of different functions, such as being presented the opportunity to conduct controlled parameter sweeps measurements and presentation of findings to R&D team through formal means.
What you will do
Design and build a repeatable measurement setup for hearing aid transfer functions
Run controlled parameter sweeps measurements
Quantify measurement uncertainty properly
Separate the airborne path from the structure-borne path, including vibration measurement (laser Doppler vibrometry) on the device housing
Build a Python/Matlab analysis pipeline: instrument control, data ingestion, transfer function and maximum-stable-gain extraction, and automated comparison against simulation output
Sit in on the FEM and lumped-element modelling work to understand the measurements they are being tested against
Present findings to the R&D team.
What you bring
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Acoustics fields
Familiarity with waves, vibration and linear systems
Comfort with transfer functions, complex impedance, and what phase actually means
Working competence in Python or MATLAB for data analysis
Careful, patient hands in the lab
Ability to commit full-time for at least 4 months.
