Join our R&D Software organization as a Senior Software Change & Quality Engineer, taking a leading role in the governance and assessment of software changes across fitting software, smartphone applications, and potentially embedded software. You will use your software development, software quality, and change-management expertise to assess technical and product risks, challenge proposed changes, and ensure software releases meet quality, safety, security, and regulatory expectations.

This is not a hands-on testing role. Instead, you will provide technical and quality leadership throughout the software change process and work closely with Software Engineering, QA, Product, and R&D stakeholders

What you will do

• Drive software change governance, ensuring proposed changes are properly assessed, documented, reviewed, and ready for implementation.

• Support the review of software change requests, impact assessments, risk assessments, change plans, and supporting technical documentation.

• Assess changes for technical impact, product risk, dependencies, quality, safety, cybersecurity, performance, and regulatory implications.

• Part of Change Board discussions, challenge assumptions and gaps, and provide fact-based recommendations on approval, deferment, rejection, or escalation.

• Ensure appropriate verification, validation, risk-management, and release activities are completed and supported by sufficient evidence before implementation.

• Partner with Software Team, QA, Product, and R&D leadership to strengthen change-management practices and continuously improve software development processes.

What you bring

Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in software development, software engineering, software quality, QA, or a closely related technical field.

• Strong professional experience in software change management, change control, or software change governance is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, change impact assessment, risk management, verification and validation, release management, and software quality processes.

• Experience with application development, mobile applications, embedded software, or complex software products, with medical-device software experience being an advantage.

• Experience working in a regulated, safety-critical, or quality-driven environment, with knowledge of software quality, cybersecurity, risk-management, and relevant regulatory standards being an advantage.
