Intern - Simulation (July- Dec 2025)
Driven by the passion to improve the quality of people’s lives, WS Audiology continues to grow as the market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation to reach more people, more effectively.
As a MEC SG Intern, you will support and contribute to key projects led by Simulation Engineers, gaining valuable hands-on experience and industrial exposure. You will engage in regular communication and teamwork with colleagues to ensure alignment and coordination across tasks and objectives. This role also offers opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional departments and possibly with Singapore Polytechnic, fostering a collaborative culture and a well-rounded problem-solving approach.
What you will do
- Perform impact testing and analysis on component parts using Pendulum or Drop Impact Testers, supporting simulation correlation and aiding in the selection of alternative rubber materials for future use
- Support the validation of system-level simulations by conducting controlled drop tests using a Pendulum Tester to assess Total Harmonic Distortion of the Receiver, comparing actual outcomes with predicted shock levels to enhance simulation accuracy
- Assist in evaluating liquid ingression through waterproof testing and Volume-of-Fluid CFD simulations on parts and hearing aids, contributing to improved correlation and understanding of virtual water-resistance performance
- Support the evaluation of thermal CFD simulations by conducting thermal tests and analyses on subsystems and hearing aids, helping to correlate simulation results and enhance understanding of heat transfer and temperature distribution
- Build prototypes that accurately represent the physical conditions required for simulation analysis.
What you bring
- Undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with and keen interest in simulation tools and software (e.g. Abaqus, StarCCM+, Python or similar)
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. Creo, Spaceclaim or similar)
- Passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- An interest in assistive technologies or the medical device industry is a plus.
