Intern - R&D (Product Architecture Design)

As an R&D Intern (HS PAD SG), you will support the development of next-generation hearing aid solutions by contributing across the full product development lifecycle. You will work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to transform ideas into functional designs, prototypes, and validated components. This role offers hands-on exposure to innovation, design, prototyping, and testing within a cutting-edge R&D environment.
What you will do
Contribute to concept development by brainstorming and generating innovative ideas for next-generation hearing aid solutions, and supporting feasibility assessments with the engineering team
Support product design activities by translating concepts into detailed designs using engineering tools, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and user requirements
Assist in prototyping activities, including building and assembling physical models of components and sub-assemblies using appropriate tools and materials
Participate in testing and validation of components and sub-assemblies, conducting experiments and analysing results to support product optimisation
Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the development process to ensure design quality and performance
Document design iterations, test results, and findings to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
What you bring
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical) or a related field
Strong interest in product development, design, and innovation
Basic understanding of engineering design and prototyping processes
Hands-on, curious, and willing to learn in a lab/R&D environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills.
